Templin Scouting posted a mock draft that dropped Cooley in our laps. Can't see that happening, but I'm down for it.

i know jaster is vehemently opposed to taking Lambert, and that alone might make it worth drafting him, but what's the rest of the board think?
God who was the guy that was drafted in the first round that was named Joe, and boston drafted him and everyone was like "they got their new jumbo joe" and he was almost exactly Brad LAmbert, size and skill for days but no production and I can't really remember his last name? Either way, I think about him a lot when I consider Brad Lamberthiramnicak wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 11:52 am

with Savoie, Nazar, among other potential top 6 centers on the board you take a winger?

Joe Colborne? The 6'5" center who tore up juniors but had the work ethic of a Chilean sloth? I don't remember him being an elite skater either... Completely different players to me.Resmo112 wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 12:43 pmGod who was the guy that was drafted in the first round that was named Joe, and boston drafted him and everyone was like "they got their new jumbo joe" and he was almost exactly Brad LAmbert, size and skill for days but no production and I can't really remember his last name? At times, Brad Lambert reminds me of David Pastrnak - he's electric, he's speedy, and he's got the dangles. But he doesn't have Pastrnak's elite shot or his drive for the net. Lambert, at least in Liiga play, is pretty easily brushed off to the outside. At other times, he reminds me of Andreas Athanasiou - all the tools but not enough toolbox to house them all on any given game.
Whenever I've watched Lambert play, I walk away excited for the potential but nervous about some very big red flags. If he weren't so keen to getting pushed off to the boards, I'd feel a lot better about him. If he used his linemates better to set up scoring opportunities instead of trying to do everything himself, I'd feel a lot better about him. Of course, he'd be a top three pick if he'd shown marked improvement in either one of those areas throughout the season, but he hasn't. How much of that is a lack of faith in his (mostly bottom line) linemates? How much is an inability to read the ice and react to situations quickly? How much of that stemmed from playing a position (RW) that he was less comfortable playing (i.e. RC)? Was the Lambert we saw two games out of at the World Juniors the player we're going to see in the NHL, or are we going to see the frustrating player we scratched our heads at all season long in Finland?

Gauthier can play C and could easily end up being a better NHL center than Nazar or Savoie just due to his size and physical play. I think he is more of a sure thing as a top 6 player than Nazar.Resmo112 wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 12:47 pmwith Savoie, Nazar, among other potential top 6 centers on the board you take a winger?

I wasn't suggesting it. I didn't even know who he was when I first saw the tweet

I was saying no to Mr. Button. Where he got the idea we would draft Snuggerud is beyond me.Fil Zaronek wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 7:46 pmI wasn't suggesting it. I didn't even know who he was when I first saw the tweet
