I’m mostly on the BPA wagon but I think positional value impacts that.

If you have 2 guys who are about equal, and 1 fills a need then you take the need. I was all for drafting Eklund in this last draft because by far the teams farm system needs offensive players, then the wings went and drafted mostly D early, and honestly, early reports on Evidsson are he might be better than Seider. If that's the case Yzerman has put together our D-corp for the next decade and a half, and that's awesome.

Yep. I’m quite certain Stevie is aware or needs at C. I think he clearly had Seider & Edvinsson in a tier above any available C. I don’t necessarily agree, but I don’t have the info he does and those picks, as well as the Raymond pick sure look great right now.

I take more exception to what we’re doing in the second round, where the players are more closely bunched together and we don’t see to be taking enough swings at C.

thank you. updated op to include links.

sounds like the entire staff had wright and cooley at 1 & 2, albeit different order from scout to scout. i've grown on him quite a bit too.

Could Lambert slip to 12 or wherever we're picking?

That would be nice, but the way his first few games at the WJC went, I could see him going higher.

https://www.tsn.ca/shane-wright-nhl-dra ... -1.1748239

interesting:
- one nhl scout interviewed has miroshnichenko 1st overall
- one nhl scout interviewed has miroshnichenko outside 1st round
