He's heading to college next year, so there's plenty of time. Very similar to the Tuomisto pick last year, which I also didn't like, and still don't.

Yeah, I'm not really a fan of the pick or the trade, but whatever. We're probably not getting a player at 128. Stevie traded up one pick to get Brayden Point and that worked out pretty well. We'll see. I'm more concerned that in Stevie's 3rd draft the highest he's taken a C - our position of greatest need - is still 51.
Our forwards are going to be pushing 40 by the time we get a 1C if something doesn't change.

My primary concenr now as well. Our only hope now is all these defensemen are hits and the Wings have a massive surplus and can use that as capital for a 1C.holytoledo wrote: ↑Sat Jul 24, 2021 11:49 amYeah, I'm not really a fan of the pick or the trade, but whatever. Maybe Yzerman wants to go home early.

I fucking hate giving all of those picks from a draft that should yield a lot more steals than any other.
I think it's a fine pick, but can't imagine there was any need to trade up and lose another pick in the process. They certainly addressed their needs on D and in goal over the last few days (both long-term and short-term), but completely ignored the need at C. That's really puzzling.
