BETTER TEAM!
"Detroit Red Wings prospect Nate Danielson has been traded in the WHL, moving from the Brandon Wheat Kings to the Portland Winterhawks. In return, Brandon has received Nicholas Johnson, Rhett Ravndahl, two first-round picks, and a fifth-round pick. Johnson hasn’t played since December 10th, battling his way back from a lower-body injury. Danielson is one of only two players on the Brandon roster scoring at a point-per-game pace, managing 26 points in as many appearances. He led the team in scoring last year with 33 goals and 78 points in 68 games – a mark that was enough for Detroit to select him with the ninth-overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft. He now moves to a Portland team that ranks second in the WHL’s Western Conference, with a 25-10-2 record."

Quite a haul for Nate!!! Enjoy the play-offs you are bound for!

latest rumor circulating a potential trade of berggren and perron for kakko (source: https://www.nhltraderumor.com/detroit-r ... de-rumors/). with the way kakko is playing, i wouldn't throw berggren into that package. doubt there's any fire behind that smoke.

This one was about 2 wks ago: The hypothetical deal would see the Rangers sending promising defenseman Braden Schneider, young forward Kaapo Kakko, and their 2024 second-round draft pick to Anaheim in exchange for the dynamic presence of Trevor Zegras, despite his recent injury-related absence from the Ducks' lineup.

Danielson picked up a goal and an assist last night in his first game with Portland, centering the second line and manning the 1st PP unit in route to a 5-4 win.

I haven't seen Kakko play much, but his production is only slightly better than Zadina's.

0.39 points per game vs 0.35 for Zadina.

However, I saw somewhere that the Rangers like Kakko's defensive game. That said, we have a lot of defensive-minded forwards that can't score, like Rasmussen, Copp, Veleno. Where would Kakko fit in?

Kakko's numbers are a bit of an aberration

He finally had a breakout season last year under Gallant, but his minutes and production are down under Laviolette.

Is that an aberration or simply a high draft pick who isn't living up to the hype?
