He's going to go to BUF, FLA, VGK, etc. Ho got wha t he wanted, a chance to prove himself, and a playoff chase to test his ability to play intense games down the stretch. He'll go to his hometown team or a top contender. I give him a 10-20% chance of returning.

It was a long shot that he would return, he's off to chase a cup or going home

Yea, he definitely does not sound like he's coming back.

It's unfortunate but why would he? He's proven himself to be back to his old shape and I'm sure he wants to play on a contender team. Also, I honestly don't think he plays the way this team needs to play anyway so I'd rather get one of the kids promoted into Top 6 and signed another younger player who wants to be here.

There's no cap room for him.
Run the numbers.

I really enjoyed having him on the team, hopefully the other forwards were taking notes.

But he plays no defense, and who knows how long he'll be out the next time he fall down go boom?

We can always trade for him at the deadline if he signs with Buffalo.

Not sure he makes sense in Buffalo.
1. Skinner
2. Tuch
3. Quinn
4. Peterka
5. Benson

Options for the 6th winger
Kane
Isaak Rosen- 21 year old 18-30-48 in AHL
Jiri Kulich - 20. 55 games 27-18-45 in AHL
Matthew Savoie - 20. 2-3-5 in 6AHL games 30-41-71 in 34 WHL games-
Noah Ostlund - 20 - 12-11-23 in 38 SWE games

They have Skinner and Tuch as the top six veterans.

Now, it is a business. And Kane might sell some tickets.

I think I'd look at the Rangers or Vegas Knights as best locations.

I'm astounded by the talent in Buffalo;s system.
2023

Walberg
Strback

2022
Savoie
Ostlund
Kulich
Leinonen

This is Buffalo's 2nd rebuild in a row after the Eichel rebuild.
Quinn hasn't shown anything for a 8th overall pick; he's older than Raymond and has a career high of 37 point, barely a contributor for his draft position.
Savoie has as many games as Kasper in the NHL at this point, 6 games of pro hockey in the AHL, not sure he'll be more than a passive contributor for a 9th overall pick.
Jury is still out on most of the top players on that list if they'll amount to real elite talent for being first round picks.
