When you account for fans that come from just outside Ottawa like Gatineau which right across the bridge from Ottawa and all other towns close enough to it, there is more than enough people around. The main problem for Ottawa was they built the fucking arena in Kanata which makes going to games a pain in the ass for anyone that doesn't live on the West side of Ottawa. The new arena they want to build would be downtown which would be better for the majority of fans.

Sure. Whoever buys the ‘yotes may try to move them to Canada too. However, the Jets are in financial trouble again for the same reason the original franchise was - not enough corporate revenue. I’d suspect that’s a problem for Ottawa as well.

Houston, Atlanta, San Diego, San Francisco, Baltimore, Orlando & San Antonio are all metro areas in the US with other major league sports and without an NHL team. All of those markets are 2-4 times bigger than Ottawa.

Honestly, I don’t give a fuck about Ottawa and between the differences in the market and the financial issues of the previous ownership, I don’t think it means much as a comparable.

Looks like it would be more work than it is worth meaning more time and more money spent. I have been on a few of these projects, usually funded by government.......er taxpayer funds.

Arizona has a pretty big metro area (same as the places you mentioned) but it doesn't really matter if over 90% of people there don't give a fuck about hockey and will only go to games if the team is good.

For sure. That’s a huge risk in any southern hockey market in general. The best place for the NHL to relocate the Sens from an economic standpoint would be the metro Toronto area but the Leafs aren’t having that.
