I disagree about the effort. So many times the Wings players slow down going to the boards for a loose puck and let the Pens players get there first because they don't want to get hit. It happens in both offensive and defensive zones.

When Copp took that penalty on Malkin, he just stopped playing and didn't even try to do anything. He just skated slowly back as did all the Wings not pressuring even though Malkin was out of the play so they were 5 on 4...instead they all just stood back and waited for the Pens to change and start to attack with the goalie out. It didn't lead to a goal with the goalie pulled but it showed that this team isn't there to win.

I'm calling it, they're done. No way does this team, playing like this, deserve to be anywhere near the playoffs. Really disappointing to see how this team has responded and played when it mattered most. Not sure Lalonde is the guy, hasn't been able to get this team to play defense all season long.
