Ottawa shouldn't trade him.
They're soooo close to being a good team. But their management situation fucked them up.
But if they did....

Would he cost Edvinsson?
Wallinder + first?
Johansson + first?
ASP + first?

The rumor yesterday was they're after Chychrun and Vatrono.

I don't see Vatrano making much sense, they don't need another small scoring winger. I don't see why Ottawa would want to trade Chychrun either.

You keep Eddy trade Wally and a first. They don't like Bergy so maybe he can be play. Eddy can be special but they don't know because Stevie is a collector and GR is the hoarding room. Yeah why is Chychrun even in play.

Nope.

One more season at 4.6M, then he's UFA.

His stats are very pedestrian, his defense is overrated, and he's not durable. He's like Fabbri on D -- guaranteed to miss at least 20 games a season.

Chychrun
Hits/60 = 1.44
Blocks/60 = 4.56
Giveaways/60 = 2.89

Petry
Hits/60 = 4.20
Blocks/60 = 5.98
Giveaways/60 = 1.69

Chychrun gets 54% offensive zone starts, while Petry gets only 40%.

He's a Gostisbehere-type player, without the actual offense.

It would be totally rude for Ottawa to trade Chychrun, with him having a home and lots of family there and him being all that the Sens had hoped for.....(sigh) but that's business for ya! They would be better to keep him and trade Chabot....but he would be much harder to trade with that $8M x 4 1/2 yrs left contract. It was ridiculous for Dorian to acquire him with Chabot and Sanderson already on the LS. Even though Chychrun can play the RS, they found out he is more effective on the LS. Red Wings do not need to make the same mistake. If the Wings do go for him, then would Holl go to Ottawa? I don't think his NTC would accept it. And then Chiarot would go to the RS. Or Maata, a 1st and a 2nd. And I am sure Ottawa would want a 2024 1st, since they lost theirs to Dorian's mistake with Dadanov. Not a good get, because the cost will be too high and the D is already over-flowing.

As I understand it, there is nothing to it. It's just clickbait. I actually started the Trade Deadline thread with these rumors back on the 19th. At the time, it was being reported that Chychrun wanted out of Ottawa. He has since come out and said it was bullshit, and that the rumors are completely baseless.
