Man, I’d love to have to eat all my words on Tuomisto.

I love that kid's shot.
I hated the pick and then I started seeing the way he stepped into a shot.
If he can be even serviceable defensively.... if you can get a really stable 2RD, why not run Seider, UFA, Tuomisto.

Wouldn’t mind him at the first RD call up next year, but he’s like 23. Edvinsson needs to be up for sure. Holl and Petry pairing him makes me nervous. I don’t think he belongs on the top pair with Seider either. All the D except Gost are due back next year.

Walman - Seider
Edvinsson - Holl
Chiarot - Tuomisto

Maata - Petry - Johansson all extra.

Cossa extended his points streak to 15 games (no losses in regulation) as the Griffs defeated Rockford 4-3 today. He has significantly better numbers than Hutchinson. Rather than continuing to alternate them as they have all year, I think they should give the reigns to Cossa.

Nice to see that some of the Wings prospects are leading them to some wins instead of a bunch of career AHLers. A lot of them started off slow but they seem to be improving as the season has gone on. Coaching change was also long overdue for that team.

The Red Wings have assigned winger Jonatan Berggren to AHL Grand Rapids, per a team release.

Berggren, 23, had been a healthy scratch in five straight games. The 2018 second-round pick was one game away from losing his waiver-exempt status, which lapses next season regardless of if he plays another NHL game in 2023-24.

Berggy's done here.
Maybe he gets a shot on a different team next year.
Or maybe the Raymond/Seider contracts force the Wings to dump a couple veterans, opening a spot for Berggren, who'll be 24 years old in July.

A piece to get a RD or a goalie this summer.
