Andrew Gibson.
Feb. 13 2005
LaSalle Ontario (just outside windsor)
Sault St, Marie, OHL
6'3, 203
46 games 7-14-21 30 PIMS

The attraction here is that Gibson is a 6-foot-3, 200lb, right shot defender with decent mobility and potential at both
ends.

EP 77
If Gibson’s skating does develop and if he can increase the success rate of his transition plays, he could become a solid bottompairing, shutdown defenceman for an NHL team.

HP 71
“If you get him in the 4th or 5th round he’d be a nice pick. Big kid, right show but his game is limited.” - NHL Scout, January 2023
“Hockey sense is just ok for me. Might be a guy who can be a 3rd pairing guy who just defends well. I think he struggles with the puck when he doesn’t have as much time and space. Pressure seemed
to rattle him and that’s not easy to fix.” - HP Scout, Mark Edwards, January 2023

Recrutes 44
There aren’t many guys his size in this draft class capable of playing a solid two-way game. He skates well, moves the puck smartly, and defends with a bit of grit. He’s pretty solid one-on-one.”

Gibson signed.
Probably going back to the OHL next year.
From a round .3 ppg to .6 ppg.

Notably, his production tanked down the stretch.

In his last 20 games:
1-3-4
+
in 11 playoff games
0-2-2

So,
first 48 games
11-29-40

Last 31 games
1-5-6

Important to knote he'd never played more than 46 games games before.

I think, re-looking at scouting reports, this is one of those prospects drafted on raw potential. So it might be awhile... one more year of junior, two years of AHL, before he really starts showing.
