Detroit was way up.
Up enough in the standings where I thought they were in the playoffs.

On Feb. 12, Detroit had 60 points. 7th in the conference, One behind Tampa two points in hand. Tied with TOronto.
That same day, Philly had 64 points, good for fifth, one point behind Carolina.

By March 1, Detroit was in sixth with 72 points. Still ahead of Tampa. 4 back of Toronto.
The Flyers had dropped to eighty, four up on Washington, five up on the Islanders and seven up on the Penguins.

The first projection I did on the wider race was
Tampa 104 - FInished with 96. Sucked down the stretch
Flyers 97 - With an easy schedule, lost 8 straight - 6 against teams lower than them.
Detroit 88 - Strange. Beat teams on the road, like Pittsburgh and Tampa. But choked in critical games against Washington - twice. Sitll did a bit better than expected.
Caps 88 - Beat Detroit 2x. Beat Tampa and Boston when it counted.
Islanders 87 - Isles really took care of business.
Devils 86 - Faded hard.
Buffalo 86 - If they reverse those games with Detroit, they're at 90.

The Flyers choked harder. Look at this shit.
They woke up just in time to upset the Rangers and get two points vs the Devils and get close enough to have just enough a chance that they pulled their goalie and fucked over Detroit.
