I think we're witnessing a robbery
Albeit a small sample size it sure looks like Lyon stole Husso's starting job. He deserves to have it after the last 7 games or so. Husso was struggling before injury. Lyon keeps the job with Reimer as backup for now. Reimer and Husso can fight for #2 spot unless Lyon's game falls apart. We're a better team in from of Lyon. Husso, you've got a problem.

This season he's 10-4-1 with a 2.54 GAA and .923 SV %. He still only has 54 career starts.
Who knows, maybe we're seeing him develop into a long term starter? But, goaltenders nowadays seem to be good, until they're not.

But Lyon will fold.

I agree that he stole it, for now.
Ride him until he falls apart. He's got better numbers this year than with Florida last year, in the same number of games!
Florida announcers praised him multiple times for his calm, square-to-the-shooter play and credited their goalie coach for helping Lyon refine his game. Whatever. He's never really been given a chance to show what he can do until last season.

This was not a robbery. This was a totally legal and and morally justifiable annexation.
This was Tom Brady overtaking Drew Bledsoe.
Even when healthy, Husso was leaky.

It was my understanding there would be no math in the debates.

Based on this, he's 31 and has never played more than 15 games in his career.
His best season was followed by a playoff collapse (last year).
Based on being 6'1 - small in today's era.
Based on, goalies often can look good on their first and even second trip through the NHL.
And then the NHL has a book on them.
Lyon should be benched immediately and Husso should start every game even though he’s still injured. Yzerman and Lalonde should be fired. Every player except Sider should be traded. Cut Kasper and Cossa, they’re busts. Edvinson Berggren and Sider should play 60 minutes of 5 vs3 every game.
Give me an f’n break. They’ve taken points in 7 straight games vs some very good teams. Enjoy that they’ve put themselves in the playoff hunt and are winning some games.
