I'd consider Willander at 17 if my dudes like But and Honzek were out.
But 9? Fuck off, Wheeler.

(9) Ryan Leonard, RW
Could have taken Benson or Leonard. I do like Benson better, but Leonard fits what this team needs a bit better. More of a powerfoward game.

(17) Daniil But, LW - By drafting But the Wings now have 2 of the best powerforwards in the draft and they substantially shift the future of our forward group away from a soft/skill look to a more balanced look.

(41) David Edstrom, C
6'3 center who skates well and does everything pretty well. Edstrom might
Adds a different dynamic to our center ice depth.

(42) Lukas Dragicevic, RD
6'2, skilled. Below average skater with questionable hockey sense. One of the bigger boom or bust guys in the draft. He can improve the skating, but how much? Experience should improve the IQ too.
I figured I'd blow one pick on a RD. Maybe this was the wrong one.

(43) Kalan Lind, C - Superphysical and aggressive, despite a small frame. Might be really nice on a line with Kasper.

(73) Aydar Suniev, LW - First round talent in round 3.

(117) Jakub Stancl, LW - 6'3 201 pound center/LW. Taking a gamble he can develop.

(137) Samuel Barcik, RD = 6'2.5 RD who skates very well. The rest of his game is pretty average.

(169) Charles-Alexis Legault, RD - 6'3 Overaged RD from the NCAA champs. Skates well. The issue has always been play away from the puck. Worth a gamble here.

(201) Ty Henricks, LW - 6'5 winger.

Gonna do one more - sticking almost solely to the draft list - admitting to gaming the simulator to take Benson at 9 knowing But would be there at 17 (50-50 proposition, maybe)

(9) Zach Benson, LW - Small. playmaking, puckhound with great hockey IQ. (RANK 7)

(17) Daniil But, LW - Massive, competitive winger with skill. (Rank 6)

Both ranked in my top 10.

(41) Alexander Rykov, RW - Competitive two-way winger. Probably a Namestnikov level type. (Rank 23)

(42) Easton Cowan, C - Small, competitive, swift and competitive center. Above average skill. Middle six center upside. (Rank 19)

(43) Aydar Suniev, LW - Nearl 6'2 winger with a good shot, above average skating and good battle level. (Rank 26)

--- All ranked in my top 32 --

(73) Damien Clara, G - Big athletic goalie (Rank 52)

(117) Griffin Erdman, RW/LW - Competitive two-way winger. 5'10. High compete and hockey sense. Good skater. Doesn't have much skill.(Rank 70).

(137) Tommaso De Luca, C - Smart, small two-way center. Shot at a 3C type. (Rank 68)

(169) Beckett Hendrickson, LW - Reports all over the map. Playmaking winger with decent size and good skating. (Rank 72)

(201) Aiden Celebrini, RD - Decent size, great skater. Needs to put his game together. (Rank 87)

Y trades 17 to Sens who take Pocket-Elmer But and they'll take one of the three Wing seconds.....for Cat.

Cranked the randomization to 75 and dropped the team needs to 25.

1.009 LC Dalibor Dvorsky 6 on my board
1.017 LW Samuel Honzek 9 on my board
2.032 LW Daniil But 10 on my board, traded 42 & 43 for 32 & 77
2.041 LD Dmitri Simashev 5 on my board
3.073 RD Andrew Gibson big defenseman with some skill
3.077 GT Adam Gajan 41 on my board
4.117 RW Jayson Shaugabay smart, very skilled forward lacking size and skating
5.137 LC Hudson Malinoski smart, skilled, decent size and skating
6.169 LD Vasili Machulin big, intelligent defenseman with underrated skating*
7.201 RD Nikita Ishimnikov big russian defenseman who competes hard

*Vasili Machulin isn't an option on this damn simulator, so I substituted him here. I've been a fan of his for years and the Black Book is finally jumping the bandwagon. It's worth noting he's a right-handed defenseman who plays the left side. Not sure if he'll be drafted.

ASP is the only pick here that has a ceiling worth getting excited about. Pretty pathetic showing overall. The 2nd & 3rd rounders look like we picked every single one of them them a round too early. Draft has definitely moved to a solid F for me.

(17) Otto Stenberg, C - Small, tenacious forward who has show upside especially in international tournaments.
(41) Quentin Musty, LW - Big slowish skilled forward.
(42) Alexander Rykov, RW - Competitive, all-around winger.
(43) Carson Bjarnason, G - Big goalie
(73) Jakub Dvorak, LD - Big physical LD.
(117) Martin Misiak, RW - Big forward with skill.
(137) Dominik Petr, C - Underrated 6'2 Czech center
(169) Matteo Mann, RD - 6'5 RD in quebec. Very raw.
(201) Ty Henricks, LW - 6'5 forward in the USHL with skill
Dominik Petr - undrafted.
Playing on Nate Danielson's team with 16 points in 17 games.
