Just finished drafting using Draft Prospects Hockey’s NHL Draft Sim.
Detroit Red Wings
(8) Matthew Savoie, C - Welp - with HP dumping Geekie to 24 and Nazar at 16, i decided to go with Savoie. Small skilled center who may end up at wing. Blech.
(40) Jiri Kulich, C - Puck hound center. Smallish C. Might not be a good enough distributor to be a C.
(52) Gleb Trikozov, C - might be the best skilled player drafted thus far. HP lists as a RW. Wonder if he should be a C. Consistency may be an issue,
(72) Jagger Firkus, C - Small goal-scoring winger.
(104) Daniil O. Ivanov, LD - Big, smart, swift LD
(112) Daniil Orlov, LD - Swift, hard-working, fairly skilled LD with good size.
(128) Ryan Healey, RD - Smallish RD. Great skater. Good skill. First round offensive ability. But IQ and defense are issue
(136) Markus Vidicek, C - 5-9 center with super anticipation. Good defense. He's small and not very quick though.
(200) Daniil Bourosh, C -- 6'1 winger in the Quebec league. Has a great shot. not a good skate.r
(211) Parker Bell, LW - 6'4 winger with hockey sense and decent skating/skill.

I don't know why I find it funny you drafted multiple centers then they're all projected as Wingers.

I'm a big fan of trading back from eighth to tenth and picking up an extra second, then packaging that second with another pick to move up a bit. I used Bob McKenzie's list, which I assume is from his midterm ranking.

010 LC Marco Kasper - best player available and a center to boot.
033 LC Noah Ostlund - I'd cheer this guy on even if he landed in Boston. I really like the way he plays.
042 LD Lane Hutson - even at his size, I doubt he's still on the board. He could be a Brian Rafalski type of defender.
052 RD Noah Warren - I'm not 100% sold on this guy, but I could see him making a decent bottom pairing guy.
104 LC Jake Karabela - this is probably a bit high to be taking him, but he plays his heart out, so I'm down with it.
112 GT Topias Leinonen - I was going to draft Dennis Hildeby, but he wasn't here, so I went with Leinonen.
126 LC Quinn Finley - I was going to draft Timofei Davydov, but he wasn't here, so I went with Finley.
136 RD Kasper Kulonummi - a bit on the small size for a defender, and his skating will need fixing, but he's a well-rounded kid otherwise.
200 LC Samuel Savoie - draft this kid for a high-energy, bottom six guy.

I like this lot here. Kasper, Ostlund, and Hutson are some of my favorite guys to watch in this draft class, and I got a kick out of Leinonen's personality in his combine interview. I'm not sold on my fourth or fifth picks right now though... that'd be the prime area to grab a couple Russian players who people've passed on due to politics. Ivan Miroshnichenko, Gleb Trikozov, Timofei Davydov.... not sure who slips how far, but fifty-two is probably in the right range to snag someone slick.

(112) Daniil Orlov, LD - Speedy 6'2 defenseman
(128) Fabian Wagner, RW - Defensive 2-way forward
(136) Arseni Koromyslov, LD - 6'3 defenseman with good hockey sense.

You can get Anaheim's two first round picks, #10 and #22, by trading our #8, #40, #112, #128, #200, and #211.

Leaving Detroit with:

1 - 10
1 - 22
2 - 52
4 - 112
4 - 128

Fewer picks, but two reasonably good first round picks. I don't have much faith in 6th or 7th round picks, anyway.

sure, but i don't know if that sort of trade really works in real life. i was trying not to game the system too much.

Dang - you’re Wright. I should’ve nabbed Kasper Larsen too just for the heck of it. I don’t know how I didn’t catch that.
