Doesn't factor for higher property and sales taxes in Toronto.
Though Tampa has a slightly higher cost of living.

This doesn't include tax deductions. You can bet all these guys have accounting firms or top notch accountants that advise them on investments that are tax deductible, they pretty much all have charities they give to that are also tax deductible. There are plenty of legal ways to pay less taxes and rich people pay people to find as many of them as possible. I can tell you first hand (even though i don't make millions) that accountants can be very creative on finding ways to pay a lot less taxes. I highly doubt that those guys get that little of their money from taxes.

I think I recall hearing that money made playing away games in the US is taxed at the US rate, and the specific state that it is earned in. It isn't a simple formula, but yes, definitely take home more in Florida than in Toronto.
