Passed on Reinbacher and a couple others who are locks to be gone at 17.
Also passed on some of those Swedes who are ranked too low and always there at 41-43.
Detroit Red Wings
(9) Daniil But, LW
(17) Samuel Honzek, LW
--
We get two big LWs to balance out the smurfs on the right side. Both have top line potential. Honzek I think is the safer pick. But has the higher upside.
-
(41) Michael Hrabal, G
(42) Alexander Rykov, RW
(43) Noah Dower Nilsson, LW
--
Expectations lowered....But still, a decent haul.
Hrabal could be the best goalie in the draft
Rykov looks like a speedy, smart middle six RW.
Dower Nilsson is supposedly better than his brother. Better skill. Better IQ. Let's fucking hope so

-
(73) Kalan Lind, C
(117) Aydar Suniev, LW(
137) Matthew Mania, RD
--
Lind is a hard working energy line guy.
Suniev is a big skilled winger who can fire the puck.
Mania is 6'1 defenseman with lots of tools
-
(169) Charles-Alexis Legault, RD
(201) Ty Henricks, LW
-
One guy is an overager who played RD for the national champs.
The other is a big, skilled still has 2 years of USHL hockey before college.
Legault was considered a fast and physical RD with good size in his draft year - but he was always hurt and his IQ was questioned.
Henriks is just a big project. I wouldn't be upset if Henriks was picked around 73 if the scouts liked him.
Risky move taking But at 9 - but why not
