Mock Draft Websites

Post by Pop Zeus »

Saw this in another thread and believe it deserves its own thread.

Personally, I don't know jack about this draft yet.

FC only goes 100 deep in the rankings - adding to the flying blind effect.

I don't like this interface much.

I took Geekie, Lorenz and Jack Hughes the 2nd with my first 3 picks. Gotta feeling Hughes won't be there.
And it's slow even on fast.

yeah, i'm not too high on their interface either, particularly given they don't allow much randomization. kind of a fun filler while i await the better mocker though.

I took Miroschenko at 11 because I didn’t like any of the Cs left there and that sight won’t let you trade down. I think he’s long gone by then, but at 11, the most likely player left to be a star.

The I took Matthew Poitras because I think he’s flying under the radar because all the draft buzz on his team is about Zhilkin, but Poitras has similar production and is the better 2 way player.

Then I took Hughest because he was still available and damn it I know he’s not from the right Hughes family, but that ship has sailed.

Last, I reached for Coke Knuble because I was channeling Kenny Holland.

075Alexander PelevinD
107Kirill DolzhenkovLW
125Brandon LisowskyC
128Liam ArnsbyC
139Topi RonniC
203Max NamestnikovC
I continued the giant Red Wings trend with 6'5" Lian Bichsel and 6'7" Kirill Dolzhenkov to give us a prospect* pool that includes:
  • LW: 6'7" Kirill Dolzhenkov
  • CT: 6'6" Michael Rasmussen
  • RW: 6'8" Elmer Soderblom
  • LD: 6'6" Simon Edvinsson
  • RD: 6'4" Moritz Seider
  • LD: 6'5" Lian Bichsel
  • LD: 6'4" William Wallinder
  • LD: 6'3" Shai Buium
  • RD: 6'5" Antti Tuomisto
  • GT: 6'6" Sebastian Cossa
  • GT: 6'4" Victor Brattstrom
We could pull the first five names for a nightmarish powerplay unit. Drop one of the forwards for a nightmarish penalty kill unit.

*I am using the word "prospect" pretty loosely here, obviously.

EliteProspects has Lekkerimaki listed as a LW. Which reminds me of what Draper said about not drafting Eklund last year: "He's a 5'10" winger."

Of course, that's a pretty good description of Lucas Raymond, too. And Lekkerimaki.

Jiricek was off the board at 11 this go around, and all of Pickering, Salomonsson, and Bischel were gone by 43. I ended up grabbing a bunch of centers though, so I can't complain.

Just watched a video of Lekkerimaki and he was playing wing. Good speed, hands and IQ but his shot might need some work.

One of my first times through.
Pretty blind still to be honest.

11- Conor Geekie - 6'4 17-year-old Canadian Center. 16-37-53 in WHL. High IQ - but skating might limit him.

43- Luca Del Bel Belluz - 6'1 Canadian Center. 29-38-67 in oHL. Two-way center who might also have some skating limitations. Great shot.

53 - Maveric Lamoureux = 6'7, 18-year-old Canadian D in the Q. Huge defenseman who skates well.

75 - Aleksanteri Kasimaki - 18-year-old 6'0 Finnish C. 1-1-2 in 4 Liiga games.
107 - Filip Nordberg - 18-year-old 6'4 Swedish D.
https://www.recruitscouting.com/player- ... -nordberg/
125 - Niklas Kokko - 17-year-old 6'3 Finnish goalie.
https://www.recruitscouting.com/top-4-e ... id-season/
128 - Sam Rinzel - 17-year-old 6'4 USA D. Going to Minnesota in 23-24. Still young. Speedy. Loves skating the puck.

139 - Markus Vidicek - 17- year old Canadian 5'10 Center. 12-30-42 @ Halifax
Seems like a good two-way center, but small.
https://nhlentrydraft.com/news/2022-nhl ... s-vidicek/

Skating reminds of Datsyuk
203 - Topi Ronni - 17-year old 6'1 Finn C, 2-2-4 in 14 games (bet he goes in round 2/3.
Decent sized center with skating

Not a Red Wings or Yzerman-like draft. Lacks swedes.

His shot is kind of his calling card, but I think he’s a better playmaker than he gets credit. I like him for that 8-12 range where we’re picking. There’s a good chance Lambert is still on the board as well, but never know… this FCHockey site suggests getting Jiricek or Geekie in our range, but I feel strongly that they’ll both be gone. Nazar, Lekkerimäki, Öhgren, and Mesar are all pretty solid grabs at 10th though.
