That site is really crazy at where it projects some of those guys to be drafted. Way later than they will actually go.

I agree. I know they do their own rankings, and I can respect that, but it would be nice if they pulled more from other lists. Heck, if “randomization” just upped the count of lists drawn from, that’d spice things up a lot. I think they could benefit from a “political factor” slider as well. Trikozov might be available at 70ish, but only if politics scare teams off, in which case Yurov and Miroshnichenko should also drop quite a bit.

It’ll be a different look entirely once Bob’s final ranking is out, though, I’m curious again how much politics will be reflected in his list relative to where guys get taken.

Nazar 9
Kasper 25
Oscar Asplund 105
Theo Wallberg 201

Traded everything else to get Kasper at 25.

I’d be happy with this draft.

2 shots at a 2C. Both have a shot at being better than Larkin. A D that’s a pretty safe bet to make the league in the 100s. An Yzerman special supersized D at 201.

I like this approach. Followed a similar strategy:

009: RC Frank Nazar III - player comparison: Dylan Larkin
033: LC Marco Kasper - player comparison: Phillip Danault
038: LD Calle Odelius - player comparison: T.J. Brodie
128: RD Michael Fisher - player comparison: Will Borgen
201: RD Noah Warren - player comparison: Scott Mayfield

I ran another simulation, slipping a spot in the draft this time. I wanted to go off the board a little, and I traded up at one point to grab Sapovaliv and Duda.

010: LC Noah Östlund - dominated the U18s. If he can put some muscle on his frame, I think he projects pretty well.
041: LC Jiří Kulich - also dominated the U18s, proving he's more than just a defensive forward.
053: LC Rieger Lorenz - Yzerman learned with Makar that you don't condemn a guy for playing in the AJHL.
073: RC Gleb Trikozov - a first rounder all day, Trikozov is a steal this late in the draft.
084: LC Matyáš Šapovaliv - another player who had a solid viewing at the U18s despite low point totals.
116: LD Artyom Duda - I worry about his ability to translate his skill, but he's a small guy who produces points.
137: LD Oskar Asplund - I've liked what I've seen of him in passing, but I haven't really paid much attention to him.
201: RD Kaden Muir - meh... I went out of my way to grab a right-handed defenseman. Not really high on Muir though.
211: LD Boston Buckberger - great name. Haven't seen him play, but he's a guy.

I'm all in for the future Mazur - Nazar - Mešár (Eminem) line...

010: RC Frank Nazar III - dylan larkin-lite.
041: RW Filip Mešár - lucas raymond-lite.
053: RC Jagger Firkus - has really impressed me since the top prospects game.
073: RD Sam Rinzel - 6'4" offensive defenseman with elegant skating.
105: LC Fraser Minten - fleet-footed grinder.
111: LC Ilya Kvochko - small, speedy forward with skill.
128: LD Filip Nordberg - 6'4" defender who lives by "keep it simple, stupid".
137: GT Hugo Hävelid - small goalie outperformed expectations in the U18s.
201: RW Nicholas Moldenhauer - kid's a warrior, and he's got the scar to show it.
211: LD Alexander Pelevin - small defenseman.

Won the lottery on my second run, and I traded down with one goal in mind: capture the Djurgårdens forwards...

008: RC Jonathan Lekkerimäki
013: LW Liam Öhgren
041: LC Noah Östlund
045: LC Marco Kasper
053: LD Owen Pickering
073: RD Ryan Chesley
105: RC Gleb Trikozov
111: RW Devin Kaplan
128: GT Tyler Brennan
137: LC Brandon Lisowsky
201: LC Gabriel Kangas
211: RD Christopher Romaine

Detroit Red Wings
(10) Conor Geekie, C - I still think he's a possible top 6 center, if not top line center.
(41) Lian Bichsel, D - Add another 6'5 prospect to the list.
(53) Maveric Lamoureux, D - Add a 6'7 prospect to the list.
(73) Vinzenz Rohrer, RW - Speedy, agile forward who could be a center.
(105) Cruz Lucius, RW - Chad's younger bro had a nice
(111) Tim Almgren, C - Small center with skill
(128) Fabian Wagner, RW - Small offensive winger.
(137) Markus Vidicek, C - Small center with skill
(201) Max Namestnikov, C - Very small center with skill.
(211) Ian Blomquist, G - He's probably gone by round 4

009: LC Conor Geekie 6'4"
041: LD Lian Bichsel 6'5"
053: LC Matyas Sapovaliv 6'4"
073: RD Sam Rinzel 6'4"
105: GT Topias Leinonen 6'5"
111: LD Filip Nordberg 6'4"
128: RD Noah Warren 6'5"
137: LW Kirill Dolzhenkov 6'6"
201: LD Kasper Larsen 6'6"
211: LC Milton Oscarson 6'5"

I was going to use my last pick on a 6'8" defenseman, but he got nabbed between Larsen and Oscarson. All-in-all, I still drafted 10 giants. For a themed draft, this group isn't all that bad either.

Only did four rounds. Traded down.

1-10 Cutter Gauthier, 6'3",194 lbs. (power forward, possibly a center)
1-24 Marco Kasper, 6'1", 183 lbs. (two-way center)
4-105 Tyler Duke, 5'9", 179 lbs. (short defensemen are all the rage)
4-111 Cruz Lucius, 6'0", 176 lbs. (skilled winger)
