To cap a sloppy game, a valiant 4th quarter game-tying drive by the local heroes is negated by Tampa Bay field goal as time expires. An honest effort from the hometown boys playing over their heads, but the better team prevails in the end.

DDK and Staal named alternate captains.

I figured Staal would get it, given his leadership role in NY. But, I thought they would give the second A to a forward.

Doesn't matter anyway. I think both guys will be gone next season.

Have to admit, I’m really looking forward to this season. Will be fun to watch Seider and Raymond, plus want to see where Ras, Zadina and Larkin are at.

Good evening and good season folks. A fairly even start so far. Where the hell is the crowd, it's so embarrassing.

Seider has to be our slowest D.

Also, Bert is looking rough. About as quick and effective as a 4th liner right now. Maybe he should have played in a few more pre-season games. Although given how long he's been out, it probably wouldn't have mattered.

Tampa benefitted some from having played a game already, they looked like they had their game legs. And they're a good team.

Zadina seems reluctant to shoot the puck. Passing up a good chance.
