My memory might be faulty but wasn't Mastrosimone the one who didn't want to sign with the Wings and planned to become a UFA to sign somewhere else? If so it is a bit weird that they would bring him to the development camp.

I speculated that since he was transferring going into his senior year of college he wasn’t likely to sign with us, but I don’t recall there was anything coming from him saying he planned to go UFA. Right now we still hold his rights.

Maybe that was it and i took it as him wanting to stay in school and then become a UFA.

I thought there was another one. That worked out well for Petruzzelli though, didn't get an NHL contract and wound up playing mostly in the ECHL instead of for the Marlies. He doesn't even have an AHL contract right now let alone an NHL one. Bet he regrets not taking the Wings ELC right now.

Edit: he is still under contract with the Leafs farm team for this season. I didn't see a contract on cap friendly so i thought his contract had expired but it was an AHL contract only and cap friendly doesn't show those.

is he going to goto the AHL? I think the only players we're gonna get outta that draft are probably Mo and Johnasson, that's still a phenomenal but if we get another player that's a great draft.
