Canada playing Latvia right now 1-1 after first period. Bedard scored for Canada. Cossa in net for Canada. The goal scored on Cossa was a perfect top corner shot that might have been deflected by the Canadian defenseman (Cossa might have been screened also). Cossa did allow 3 goals in the 2nd half of the exhibition game against Sweden. Garand played the 1st half and Canada was up 3-0 when Cossa came in, Canada did end up winning that game 4-3. When they showed Cossa at the start of the game, they listed him as 6'7. I wonder if they just rounded up or he actually grew a bit more since being drafted.
Sebrango looks good and he should given he played in the AHL all of last season. Zellweger and Cormier (did want the Wings to draft Zellweger in the 2nd round in 2021). Rest of the defense look meh and Canada even though they vastly outshot Latvia doesn't look as good as you would expect against a much weaker opponent. They need to step it up and start to finish their chances. Ozolins for Latvia (19 year old undrafted defenseman) has looked good so far.
Red Wings Prospect News & Highlights
Re: Red Wings Prospect News & Highlights
Edvinsson and Niederbach both had an assist in the 3-2 win of Sweden against the Swiss. Niederbach also took a penalty in every period of this game including a 5 min boarding 13 min into the 3rd period but the Swiss couldn't score to tie the game.

i didn't watch the game, but what a line. the kid racked up 29 minutes of penalties in one game (high stick, trip, boarding, etc.), all while managing an assist, +2, a shot on goal, and 61.54% face-off percentage.
Re: Red Wings Prospect News & Highlights
Canada looks like shit. They get a PP and the only shot is Latvia on a breakaway which Cossa stopped and right after Latvia gets a 2 on 1 and Cossa makes the save again.
