Since the off-season is kicking into gear and the next few weeks should be crazy, might as well have a thread for any news that's not big enough for it's own thread.
Edited the title to make it Season news.

Re: NHL Off-Season News
Here's another one I read earlier today. Boston D-man Kevan Miller has announced his retirement.

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin is one step away from earning a new, fancy title. Friday, the Federal Science Center of Sports and Culture at the Sports Ministry of the Russian Federation had a preliminary hearing and approved Ovechkin for the discussion and defense of his PhD dissertation. The topic of Ovechkin’s dissertation was “Comparative Analysis of Professional Hockey Training Methods in North America and Russia.”
According to Match TV, once Ovechkin’s dissertation is approved by the Science Council, he will become a PhD of Pedagogical Sciences (research-based education strategies to help young people learn).

Ovie seems like such a meathead.
Good for him.
Re: NHL Off-Season News
I am literally rolling on the floor reading this. Ovechkin is such a huge Putin booster, so involved with Night League, that it's almost a certainty that he will get his PhD and that it's complete bullshit and means nothing. PhD dissertation. LMAO!!!Zattaman wrote: ↑Fri Jul 16, 2021 10:59 pm Ovi working on his PhD?
