Detroit had one nice 5-6 minute run in the third period.
Mostly, it was an evenly played game.
A few nice passes from Hirose.
Decent game from Griess.
Our defense really, really backs off the blueline. Makes every rush look dangerous.

Blash-
-we lost the special teams battle.
On Mantha/Larkin sitting out the first two powerplays.

wow. coach just openly admitting he doesnt have a clue, a plan, and putting it on the team to figure it out. Even babcock was smart enough to say he had a plan and they just werent executing it. Can anyone imagine bowman saying "there is no blueprint to a successful powerplay"? i saw a rumor the other day that blash may be on his way out. Cant happen soon enough. Our team has alot of developing younger players. They need a real coach, not some clown throwing darts hoping something sticks then blaming the team for not having better ideas.

He's not saying he doesn't have a clue, he's saying he's giving them a basic power play to run, but the players he has aren't good enough to do it.attica wrote: ↑Sun Jan 31, 2021 3:20 am wow. coach just openly admitting he doesnt have a clue, a plan, and putting it on the team to figure it out. I read this much more as an indictment of the roster he's been given, and I agree with him. It's still a testament to Holland's ineptitude, and will be until at least Seider's generation starts getting integrated.
I am rooting for Hirose, but that should be the guy we drafted in Cholowski's slot running the PP. Or Sprouls, Or Ouellet's. . .
Blashill is done as dinner here, but I'm not sure what you all are expecting him to do with this dreck roster.
Not to mention Fabbri and Zadina not being available.
