"The Columbus Blue Jackets are one team looking to name a new head coach next offseason, with reported candidates ranging from current associate coach Pascal Vincent to controversial veteran coach Mike Babcock. Today, Larry Brooks of the New York Post added Hall of Famer and CSKA Moskva head coach Sergei Fedorov into the mix of Columbus coaching targets.

While Fedorov is best remembered for his playing days as a Detroit Red Wing, he did play the better part of three seasons as a Blue Jacket in the latter stages of his career between 2005 and 2008. Overseas, his two seasons as a head coach have been wildly successful, winning the KHL’s Coach of the Year award in 2021-22 while also taking home the league championship."

DETROIT HOCKEY NOW: Legendary goaltender Dominik Hasek used shopping carts to recently clear out his artifacts from the Czech Hockey Hall of Fame in Prague. He and other famous Czech players had to gather up what they donated to the Hall as it is closing due to economic issues. It’s hoped it will reopen in a new location in the future.
Dom was pretty emotional as he helped to create the Czech Hockey Hall of Fame.

How hard is it to have a half decent Czech Hall of Fame?

3-4 corporate sponsors is all it would take to have a building and an attendant.

Surprised Hasek, Jagr, etc. didn’t just pony up.

Somehow AA got $4.25MM out of Chicago annually on a two-year deal for a 20-20-40 -29 stat line. WTF?

AA probably wanted 3-4 years.
Chicago probably wanted to play 3.5.
Compromise.

Yea, who knows how that guy makes this much.

Got to reach the cap floor somehow.

AA seems like a good fit on awful teams. Gifted enough offensively to give fans something to talk about, and bad defensively, which helps to maintain that high draft position.
