So, they either continue playing in Sun Devil Arena forever or move. Bettman is probably bawling his eyes out over this. He really wants to keep them in AZ. About all he has left is to build a pond out in the desert with some scattered bleacher seats and hope the ice stays frozen. Or, he can just give it up and let them move.
He will probably move them to Houston or New Mexico or something like that (because of population not because they want hockey there) although i think he was planning to sell an expansion team in Houston. Quebec already has an Arena and you know fans will support the team but he won't even consider moving them there because "it doesn't grow the game". Maybe he moves the Coyotes to China...they do have the population and it will "grow the game" there.
Houston historically had really good AHL attendance and would probably be a strong market.
If the team is good maybe...if they play like Arizona and are shit (which they would be), they might be fine for the 1st year because of the novelty but after that fans would likely stay away imo. Same can probably be said about the other USA markets mentioned as relocation spots. I think fans in Quebec would show up even if they sucked even if it is just to see the other visiting teams play.

Big problem with Quebec is they would have to be in the East and there is already more East teams than West. Either the Wings or Jackets would have to go back in the West and i doubt either want that...although the Wings might have a better shot at the playoffs in the West.

The best one yet would be Milwaukee, but Chicago owns the jurisdiction and won't say yes to that. The archaic 100 mile rule.........Oh, and still in the Central.

I was kidding. I don’t think a lot of the posters here want to see the Portland Antifa in the league with their burning store front logo.

Presidents have a bit more leeway. If Leafs fail next season, everyone will get axed.

From the press conference, it sounded like Dubas wanted to come back, but asked for more money than Shanny was offering. While Shanahan said that this wasn't the reason why he decided not to renew Dubas, I'm sure it helped to convince him to go in a different direction.
