Florida already pays 10M to Barkov and Bobrovsky, and now, 9.5M for Tkachuk.

With Lucic and his 5M cap hit gone after next season, Calgary will have enough cap space to sign both players, provided they want to stay.

Seems like a win-win for both teams.

Still, that's a helluva price to pay for Florida. Top pairing D and a top line forward with 85 assists...
Huberdeau might get $10M - but maybe for 4-5 years. Maybe.
Nobody's gonna give him $10M x 7.

He changed agents just a couple days ago. Held out for more than his market value and then got stuck. The one year deal is not surprising.

Wonder if Kadri overestimated his worth since nobody is throwing $9-10 million at him for long term and is looking for a one year deal?

Only way this would make any sense is if he takes a 1 year deal like Klingberg knowing he likely will be dealt to a contender at the deadline. Yzerman would surely have to move a forward if not more before the start of the season.

I don't think the Ducks acquired Klingberg to be a trade asset at the deadline.
When asked if he thinks that the Wings could compete for a playoff spot now, he laughed off the question by saying he played for Vegas in their first season and no one expected them to be a playoff contender but they went all the way to the SCF

I think the Ducks did with Klingberg or else i would think they would have signed him for longer. His NTC also turns into a NTC with a 10 team list not to be traded to on Jan 1st. This is the first time i have heard of a NTC changing in season on a 1 year deal...to me that screams trade bait at the deadline but only to contenders.

I think every team hopes to make the playoffs going into a season although Anaheim probably acquired Klingberg to most likely trade him but if the Wings were to sign Kadri, with all of the other additions the purpose of such a signing would be to make the playoffs rather than a trade asset.

Yzerman says Pysyk got injured after they signed him.
