UFA Mason Marchmant

Post by Pop Zeus »

Mason Marchment
Position: F • Shoots: Left
6-4, 209lb (193cm, 94kg)
Team: Florida Panthers
Born: June 18, 1995 (Age: 27-004d) in Uxbridge, Ontario

Only had 37 career games going into last season
2-9-11

Last year he broke out
54 games 18-29-47 +29

At even strength
17-28-45 (in 54 games)

Also had 114 hits and 53 PIMs.

He's a UFA without much track record.
But he also doesn't have a ton of mileage on his odometer, either.

Just by comparison, at even strength
Marchment 54 games: 17-28-45
Raymond 82 games: 18-21-39
Bertuzzi: 68 games: 23-23-46
Larkin 71 games:: 25-30-55

Wings certainly have some young forwards with size, but I think I like the idea of Marchment.

Sure, we need depth scoring. Fabbri, Suter and Vrana was fine but fuck

Yeah, i was thinking the same thing. Wouldn't surprise me if a team offered him something in between what Barclay Goodrow ( 6 years 3.6 mil per) got with the Rangers and what Blake Coleman (6 years @ 4.9 mil per) got from Calgary. Hell of a gamble to pay for a guy with 1 good season and 91 NHL games played (not including the playoffs). If you can get him around 2 to 3 mil on a 2 or 3 year deal then it might be worth the gamble to add some size and physical play but some team is bound to overpay on a longer term deal.
